I offer online (text, voice, or voice and video) and in-home services, the latter only for clients within a driving hour of Wyandotte, MI.
All per-hour charged services round to the nearest hour: 30 minutes through the hour is the cut-off for the next hour (so 1 hour and 30 minutes is where you get charged for 2 hours).
Internet Evaluation
It's best to start here. This is an in-home broadband internet evaluation. I will personally drive to your house and check the signal amplitude and noise levels on your connection to make sure you're getting what you pay for. Note that I cannot fix what I discover; but you'd have the ammunition to contact your internet provider and demand it gets fixed - and they should not charge you for this, as its part of their service to maintain these levels automatically. But they don't have any automatic checks, so they only respond to people that call in complaining their internet is bad. This means that you could not have optimal service, and you'd still be much better off getting this squared away before buying my In-Home WiFi Optimization service, for example.
WiFi Optimization
I will drive out to your house and perform an on-site assessment of your location, house structure and materials, current hardware and its physical positions throughout the house, and all connecting devices, IoT or otherwise. I will then devise the best strategy for WiFI reliability possible for your house, starting with whether and what you should consider upgrading, then physically moving throughout the house (if possible), and then optimizing the settings based on the prior assessment. This service is $200 an hour.
General Consultation
I will come to your house to answer all and any digital security, privacy, and general technology questions you have. This costs more than the online version, but being on-site helps me understand your situation and so usually makes it both easier and quicker for me to provide proper guidance that's tailored to your needs. Not exactly sure what you even need to know? Here are some examples: What could I optimize? Is optimizing cost-effective in my current context? Is my internet secure? Is it private? Could I make it more secure and/or private? Should I upgrade anythign to achieve this? Could you advise me on specific technological devices based on my priorities? Are VPNs worth it? How does a VPN even work? Etc. I can advise on virtually all categories of technology: Smartphones and tablets Comptuters and laptops Modems and ONTs All manner of internet connected/smart devices (including but not limited to: microwaves, digital assistants, air purifiers, thermostats, etc...) $80 an hour.
